According to my doctor, it takes around a year. If you had it untreated for over a year AND you developed PID, then chances are that there may be some damage done to your tubes. PID is what actually causes the infertility, not the chlamydia itself. Chlamydia may or may not turn into PID depending on how long a person had it, how good the person's immune system is, etc. Chances are, if it has been untreated for a year or less, you are fine with being able to conceive children later on it life. I had chlamydia for over a year before i realized but i did not have PID. My tubes are damaged so its not just PID it can be the std as well. There is no set time limit before it effects your tubes it could be months or even years.How long does it take before chlamydia scars womens tubes and makes them infertile?
It takes years of having chlamydia before it does any tubal scaring.
