hi, does anyone know how long it takes for hypertrophic or keloid scars take to heal?I have a few slightly raised and some which are flat and dark red on my face. does vitamin e oil help at all? ive been using bio oil for about 2 months now but it doesnt seem to be helping at all. thanks. P.S. they arent surgical scars just deep cuts from an accident. any info and feedback would be great. cheers!Scars??????
You can buy scar plasters from chemists or ';superdrug'; type chain stores. Sandalwood oil helps tighten the skin and eases redness. I had surgery on the side of my throat, neck and chest and tried all sorts, best thing I found was getting a tan the first summer after. When my tan faded the scars had lost some of there ';angry'; redness although the experts do say scar tissue is less resistant to U.V. rays so this may not work fot you. Time heals hypertrophic scarring anyway.Scars??????
If they are keloid scars, they are most likely not going to go away. My brother had keloids on his ears and had to go to a plastic surgeon every year to get them removed. If they are not keloids you might want to try mederma. It will help reduce the look of it but I really don't think there is anything out there that will get rid of it.
bio-oil is good, available in most chemists and supermarkets!
Vitamin E does help. I have been using it on my scar quite frquently and have noticed some positive changes.
there are many creams for scar and stretch marks in your local pharmacist.
use coco butter, over time your skin will repair itself dont get too down about it we all have scars they are what make you a person, a real person.
