I hear every bit of what you're saying. It's frustrating to have acne and scars to cover up. I recently suffered from severe cystic acne and managed to get rid of it for the most part by using ';Poreless Gel'; by Dr. Brandt. Now I'm left with scarring. Here's what I do to cover up:

CONCEALER-

I use Make Up For Ever's Full Cover concealer. This line is professional and is used by make-up artists for movies, tv shows and other events. The coverage I get from this is excellent.

FOUNDATION-

Because my skin is still sensitive and acne-prone, I use Bare Escentuals' bareMinerals foundation. This foundation has been proven not to irritate sensitive skin and takes care of redness and shine. It also has SPF 15 which is a great plus.

Both these products can be found online or at your local Sephora. How can i cover up my blemish and scars with makeup?
cocealer is the one..
use really light powder to cover the problem spots
First, use a concealer. Then use a foundation and set with powder for an overall flawless look.

Concealer:

If you have red blemishes, use a green concealer to get rid of the redness. Then you can use a skin-tone concealer over it. I use a cheap Covergirl concealer and it works great.

Foundation:

Use oil-free to avoid future blemishes. A good one that I use is Almay Smart Shade. It goes on white then turns the color of your skin. It's amazing! It blends so well, and it has good coverage.

Powder:

I use L'Oreal true match, and I always try to get my powder a shade lighter than my foundation.
