Homemade or otherwise? I am 14 and have scars from my acne. Any suggestions? Thanks! Are there any ways to get rid of/fade acne scars?
Removing acne scars is never easy. Minimizing them is not to hard depending on how deep they are. It is always best to look at product reviews to see what does and does not work before trying anything. Are there any ways to get rid of/fade acne scars?
Being 14 is a plus. A doctor can prescribe Retin-A. That will help. Protect your face from Sun and Cold. Time will help too.
To reduce or remove shallow and pitted acne scars the best at home treatment would be to exfoliate using glycolic acid or 1-2% salicylic acid to slowly remove damaged scar tissues. After exfoliation, you apply either topical ascorbic acid or topical copper peptide to allow the rebuilding of new collagen and healthy skin cells. As you can see it is a 2 step process and the process should be repeated for several months. Topical ascorbic acid and copper peptide also helps reduce
the darker scar coloration and redness imparted by acne scars.
Time heals all scars -- NOT! If your scars are deep and don't fade with time, when you are older you may consider going to a dermatologist. Some people have resorted to facial peels, laser surgery and other extremes in cases where scarring is extensive.
In the meantime, you can use facial masks to help keep those pores clean to prevent further acne flare-up and scarring. A light abrasive cleanser is also helpful. And, I don't like to drop names of products, but I bought my daughter a product called ';Kiss My Face'; that was wonderful for her.
drink ascorbic acid and vit e everyday.
use a facial wash that can lighten pimple scars.
use a mild skin lightening soap to get rid or fade the dark acne marks. :-)
